More than a Journal and Pen
A fashionable woman is on the cover of the third spiral-bound journal she has begun writing in.
The outside of the journal reflects how she hopes appears.
She writes diligently on the white lined paper.
The paper is her life, her story, her future and she is writing it.
The inside of the journal bears her pains, struggles, and secrets,
It has her happiness, hopes, dreams, and truths.
The pen she uses must be black, because it's professional.
It must be a sharpie pen, because it's reliable and never stops.
The pen has never given up on her.
She writes the chaos that is in her mind,
and for that time she feels she has escaped.
She questions as to why she stopped writing in the first place,
for it bring her calm, serenity, courage, wisdom, and peace.
She grips the pen because if it were to slip out of her hands,
with it would go all her thoughts and plans.
