Oh tree,
tall, giant, thick, big
short, dwarf, thin, small.
Leaners, Poles, Bent.
Straight, upright, uptight.
Covered in beautiful leaves,
that change colors at the turn of every season.
Your deep, deep roots. Growing,
taking up space across the ground.
You sway in the storms, and are still when the sun shines.
The things you've seen, the stories you could tell.
But like your roots, you keep them hidden.
Giving shade and comfort instead,
and ask for nothing in return.
