Light the Night

In the midst of all the heart breaking news of violence, riots, protests, etc. following the election I wanted to share something happy and special with you guys!

 Two weeks ago, I had the absolute privilege of being able to attend Light the Night/Lights Festival where I live. If you're not familiar with it, it's also known as the Lights Festival, and my dear friend and I have had 'early bird' tickets since June! Your ticket includes a lantern, marker, and key chain flashlight. Once it gets dark, and they get the "ok" from the fire department everyone is able to light their lanterns with tikkis that are near each sitting area and the night I was there, it was at least 10,000 lanterns that were released into the sky. It was everyone's Tangled Disney dream come true. It was such a beautiful sight, and I am so happy I got to be a part of it. With live music, families, couples, bunches of friends, it was such a beautiful moment.

We got there early, packed some snacks and just sat on the ground while munching
on sandwiches and listening to live music

 

This is actually more difficult than it looks!! 

But in the end, it was all worth it

I lit this lantern for all my loved ones who have been there for me
& those gone but not forgotten.
